LOS COMPAÑEROS A POETIC PERFORMANCE

Los compañeros is a poetic work with songs and poems by Pablo Neruda and Victor Jara two of the greatest poets of Chile. They wrote fantastic poems about life, love, death and political fights. In this performance the audience has the opportunity to meet these fantastic poets in a different version. The atmosphere and the feelings in poems, imagine with a combination of signs, dances and visual expressions. Pablo Neruda was the diplomat, a politician and an intellectual writer. He was tribute a colourful lyric and surrealistic. He received the Nobel Prize of Literature in 1971. The almost thirty years younger Victor Jara was very popular because of his songs, sung by people all over the world. Both Jara and Neruda often are associated to the military coup in Chile 1973. Many people recited poems of Neruda and the songs of Jara. Victor Jara was humiliated and tortured to death, as many others at Estadio Chile. He wrote his last song there. His fellow prisoners helped to memorize the song and they delivered it to the world. Pablo Neruda passed away shortly after the military coup. Carlos Müller Villanueva is educated at the Theater University in Stockholm. He has participated in several different plays performed by Tyst Teater, among others the Goddess and the Donkey skin. Director Lars Otterstedt he too educated actor at the Theater University in Stockholm. Lars and Carlos both are employed actors since 1996 at Tyst Teater. Lars has directed several performances. This is his third assignment as director at Tyst Teater.
